ONE Sabbath
The ONE Campaign has launched a new initiative to engage churches, synagogues, mosques and temples in the movement to make poverty history.
As part of this effort, the campaign is targeting the weekend of Nov. 23-25 for communities of faith to host special services focused on a simple question: "What can we do as congregations and believers, to bring healing to a world in which 28,000 childern die every day from poverty-related causes?
Click here if you're interested in bringing ONE Sabbath to your congregation or if you simply want more information. The ONE Sabbath initiative will be part of The ONE Campaign's ongoing efforts to engage communities of faith in the global campaign to fight hunger, poverty and disease.
"ONE Sabbath is only the beginning. In the next year, we'll build on this weekend of hope and activism to work with people of faith and houses of worship across the country to elevate the issue of global poverty in 2008—when America will go to the polls and vote for new leaders and policies—and beyond," said The ONE Campaign.
