Lenten Reflections: Day Twelve
On Sundays during Lent, we invite you to reflect and respond to the weekly prayer and action from our Lenten Prayers for Hungry People resource.
Lectionary readings (from the Revised Common Lectionary):
Genesis 17:1-7, 15-16
Psalms 22:23-31
Romans 4:13-25
Mark 8:31-38 or Mark 9:2-9
Prayer:
O God, you desire that all people should eat and be satisfied. As we follow Jesus and are transformed by his death and resurrection, may we spend our lives so that all may share in your bounty.
Amen.
Action:
Bread for the World’s 2012 Offering of Letters urges Congress—during this time of intense debate about budget deficits—to protect funding for nutrition and development programs that are a lifeline to hungry people here in the United States and abroad. Visit our Offering of Letters website or call 1-800-822-7323 to find out how you and your congregation can participate.
