Urging our nation's leaders to end hunger

Quote of the Day: Samuel Rodriguez

"At the end of the day, passing immigration reform is not about advancing the agenda of the donkey or the elephant, but rather about living out the agenda of the Lamb."

—Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference

On June 28, the Senate passed an immigration reform bill, but there is still much work to be done on the advocacy front as members of the House take up the issue. We must continue to urge congressional leaders to create a more just immigration system—immigration is a hunger issue.

Marvin was once an undocumented immigrant in the United States, where he had moved without his family to better support them. Hunger, and a lack of economic opportunity are at the root of much of the undocumented immigration from Mexico (Laura Elizabeth Pohl/Bread for the World).
