Urging our nation's leaders to end hunger

Quote of the Day: Pope Francis

Bread_prayer_cap“You can’t govern without loving the people and without humility! And every man, every woman who has to take up the service of government, must ask themselves two questions: ‘Do I love my people in order to serve them better? Am I humble and do I listen to everybody, to diverse opinions in or to choose the best path?’ If you don’t ask those questions, your governance will not be good.”

– Pope Francis, quoted in a letter by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops to members of Congress before the U.S. government shut down.

Tell your members of Congress to pass a responsible budget that addresses sequestration, end the U.S. government shutdown, and raise the debt ceiling without political games.
